About This Program
Through innovative programming, integrated on-campus and field study opportunities, and the support of experienced and caring faculty, you will be prepared to succeed from the first day of classes through to graduation.
Upon completion of the first year, many St. Peter’s College students move to the U of S main campus to continue their studies. In some instances, students can complete the second year of studies with St. Peter’s College. St. Peter’s students must meet the same promotion standards as U of S students in order to move into the second year of study. What you will Learn
The Bachelor of Education program is designed for future educators wanting to teach students in a variety of educational institutions, including K to 12 schools. You will specialize in two teaching areas to concentrate your expertise in specific subjects.
You’ll be able to focus on either Early Years, Middle Years or Secondary (high school) education. St. Peter’s College also offers a program that provides first-year education students additional practicum time in a classroom in the local area.

Tuition will vary depending on the type and number of classes you take in a year. This estimate reflects a typical amount you could expect to pay in your first year if you enroll in a full course load, the maximum number of courses allowed.
Fees are used to fund specific student benefits.
The cost of books and supplies varies widely depending on the courses you choose. It is recommended that you budget between $1,000-$2,000 per year.

Once you graduate and after you receive your teaching certificate from the province of Saskatchewan, you will be certified to teach any grade from Kindergarten to Grade 12.
A Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) is just the beginning of a long career in education, academia, community, business, politics or government.
Graduate programs in the College of Education offer opportunities to advance your skills and expertise in the areas of educational administration, educational foundations, educational psychology and special education, and curriculum studies.
Admission Requirements and Deadlines
Deadlines
St. Peter’s College Deadline:
Students already accepted into their program at the University of Saskatchewan may begin classes at St. Peter’s College anytime before the deadline for registration changes (mid-September and mid-January)
University of Saskatchewan Deadline:

Required High School Classes
- Foundations of Mathematics 30 or Pre-Calculus 30
- Biology 30 or Chemistry 30 or Physics 30 or Earth Science 30 or Computer Science 30
- History 30 or Social Studies 30 or Native Studies 30
- 30-level language other than English or a Fine/Performing Art
Two deficiencies among above subjects are permitted but must be cleared prior to entering second year of study.
The high school classes that are required for admission purposes are not always the same as classes you will need to complete the degree program you choose. For example, if you want to minor in chemistry, you will need high school chemistry to take your first-year university classes.
Required Grade Average
Early admission minimum average: 80%
Regular admission minimum average: 70%
After the early admission deadline, we’ll continue accepting applications until the final deadline. All applicants will be ranked by admission average and spaces will be offered to the top applicants. Based on last year’s applicants, we expect to offer admission to students with an 70% average or above.

English Proficiency
If your first language in not English, you may have to prove proficiency in English before admission. It is expected that applicants interested in this program are fluent in English.

Students must apply and be accepted to the University of Saskatchewan and St. Peter's College. The University of Saskatchewan requires a non-refundable application fee of $90 CDN before your application will be processed. St. Peter's College will process your application at no charge.
