Description of the Frank and Elizabeth Weber Scholarship

Frank and Elizabeth Weber Scholarship

Join us as we showcase a scholarship every Friday. St. Peter's College awarded over $80,000 in scholarships in the 2019-2020 year, with ongoing plans to award more.

Join us as we showcase a scholarship every Friday. This week's scholarship showcase is the Frank and Elizabeth Weber Scholarship. Worth $1,500, this is a long-standing SPC scholarship opportunity.

St. Peter's College does scholarships differently. We provide our students with the opportunity to first receive scholarships elsewhere. Why? Because our students get to keep that money and still apply for ours. In fact, that's part of why our students are successful: they receive additional funding to ensure they can afford university and succeed.

Students at SPC are also enrolled as University of Saskatchewan (and sometimes University of Regina) students. This means they also gain access to the scholarships that USASK offers and can help fund their education. USASK offers an impressive $13 million to their 26,000+ students, of which our students also receive. mikayla-buryniuk-scholarship-winner-2019.jpg

St. Peter's opens their scholarships from May 1st to June 22nd to allow students the time to properly apply for the fantastic opportunities our donors provide. During summer it is common to see high-schoolers and parents in the office of Student Services, applying for scholarships and seeking feedback for that competitive edge.

In 2019-2020, St. Peter's College awarded an average of $1,800 in scholarships, bursaries, and funding per student.

While most scholarships at SPC are meant for incoming students, a substantial amount is still reserved for upper-year and exiting students. Our current scholarship showcase, the Frank and Elizabeth Weber Scholarship is reserved for such a group. To be eligible for this scholarship, a student must be a full-time first or upper-year St. Peter's College student.

Makenna Mueller

In the last year, there were not one but two recipients of this award, both first-year students: Makenna Mueller studying Arts and Science and Mikayla Buryniuk studying Arts and Science. Both have promising plans for their future studies and are believed to emerge as future leaders.
