As a long-term affiliated College, it is not surprising to hear that, through its many agreements, St. Peter's College is known to offer the first year or two of nearly all undergraduate academic programming options at the University of Saskatchewan. Students arrive at St. Peter's to study Agriculture and Bioresources, Arts and Science, Business, Education, Engineering, Kinesiology, Pre-Social Work, Pre-Vet Med, Pre-Law and much more.
The College, well known for its capacity in successfully transitioning students into their upper-years of university, attempts to take students to the USASK Saskatoon campus whenever feasible. Last week our students were taken to the Saskatoon campus for a general campus tour and to meet staff and tour their respective colleges of Agriculture & Bioresources, Kinesiology and Edwards School of Business. The tour is meant to familiarize the students with their future academic home, introduce them to previous SPC students and grow their comfort as they go through the transition.
Students in the Colleges of Kinesiology were able to eat on-campus and were given free roam before being given a campus tour.
Those in Animal Biosciences and Agriculture & Bioresources were given a short academic advising session, toured the Western College of Veterinary Medicine and were provided with tips of how to successfully transition and maximize their chances of acceptance, and finished with a tour of the Agriculture building and then of the main campus.
Students in Edwards School of Business were provided with a tour by St. Peter's College alumni. Students were shown classrooms of various sizes, study areas, student lounges, and much more.
