Saskatchewan Provides Relief for Post-Secondary Students

The Saskatchewan government announced $1.5 million in emergency financial aid to support students.

The COVID-19 situation has influenced many things in a student's life, one of which may be current or summer employment. In an effort to assist students financially, the Saskatchewan government has made up to $1.5 million available in emergency financial aid for students affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The amount of funding the government disperses will be dependant on the individual circumstances of the student. The aid will be offered through one-time emergency bursaries to domestic and international students at publicly-funded post-secondary institutions. Eligibility requirements and application details will be available within the next week.

"Our government is committed to helping students achieve their educational goals," Advanced Education Minister Tina Beaudry-Melloer said in a statement.
