On Thursday, September 26th, St. Peter’s College observed Truth and Reconciliation Day. Everyone wore orange shirts to acknowledge the Indigenous children who attended residential schools.
On this solemn day, people across Canada wear orange shirts to symbolize the suffering endured by Indigenous children who were forcibly removed from their homes and placed in residential schools.
Truth and Reconciliation Day is a time for reflection, learning, and a commitment to healing. It is an opportunity to acknowledge the historical and ongoing harm caused by residential schools and to work towards a more just and equitable future for Indigenous peoples.
