A group of students from St. Peter’s College who are planning to transfer to the University of Saskatchewan main campus visited St. Thomas More College (STM) on Thursday, January 29.
The visit began with a warm welcome from STM’s recruitment officer, who introduced the students to the STM community and the academic and student-support services available on campus. Students learned how STM fits within the broader USask experience and what makes the college a close-knit and supportive place to study.
Following the introduction, the group toured the STM campus, exploring different departments and getting a feel for day-to-day life at the college. One of the highlights of the visit was the opportunity to meet the STM President, giving students a chance to connect directly with college leadership.
The day continued with a visit to the USask Arts Building, led by SPC Arts instructor Jacob Semko, who is also a member of the Usask faculty. During the tour, students explored various art installations and sculptures throughout the building and spent time in the arts gallery, where they learned more about the creative spaces and opportunities available to Arts students at USask.
Overall, the visit offered SPC students valuable insight into both STM and the wider USask Arts community, helping them better understand what to expect as they prepare for their next step.
