A Poetic and Musical Evening with Tara Dawn Solheim
Tara Dawn Solheim is a writer and musician. Her original creations integrate poetry and acapella singing in performance. She has performed in many contexts throughout Canada and Japan.Â
Regina-based performance artist and director of Sagehill Writing Experience, Tara Dawn Solheim, captivated a live and virtual audience at St. Peter’s College Library on Thursday, November 28th. Known for her love of music and poetry, Solheim shared her heartfelt work, drawing inspiration from her experiences at St. Peter’s Abbey during writing retreats.
One of the highlights of the evening was the performance of “Waxwing,” a poem that blends music with playful vocalizations, mimicking the whimsical behavior of these birds. The poem captures the beauty and sometimes-intoxicated antics of waxwings, inspired by their consumption of fermented berries.
This event was presented in part by the Saskatchewan Writers’ Guild.
