Kurt, a senior monk at St. Peter’s Abbey and an instructor at St. Peter’s College, shares how he developed his story “Atticus Pund and the Arrow of Sorrow.” He teaches Introductory Psychology, which he prefers to call Introductory Neuroscience, and spends his spare time exploring AI writing and 3D graphics. As one of the driving forces behind St. Peter’s College’s academic excellence, he brings his creativity and passion for learning into every project he works on.

The plot begins when the Kremlin searches for a legendary artifact called the Arrow of Sorrow. They kidnap an Earl’s daughter, drawing Atticus Pund into the case. At the same time, a young Commander James Bond, not yet 007, is sent by Naval Intelligence to question him. What follows is a classic British-style mystery filled with suspense, humor, and Cold War intrigue.

The heart of the story is rooted in real history. The “Arrow of Sorrow” is inspired by the famous 1403 injury of Prince Hal, later King Henry V, who survived a bodkin arrow to the face thanks to surgeon John Bradmore. In Br. Kurt’s version, the arrow carries a deadly poison, turning the historical event into a modern-day threat.

A key focus of his talk is how AI can support creativity without replacing it. He uses tools like Leonardo.ai, Mango.ai, and text-to-speech platforms to build visuals and character voices, while relying on handwritten storyboards to keep the work original. For him, AI mistakes become opportunities to show authenticity, not shortcuts.

The presentation encourages students and creators to explore AI as a helpful assistant, while still valuing originality, research, and human creativity at the core of storytelling.
