How much will the year cost?

When considering the cost of a year at St. Peter's College, the following must be taken into consideration:

  1. Tuition - Costs for tuition are calculated on a category 1, 2, 3, or 4 basis.  When you are looking at a course, you will note that each class has a number, such as ENG 298.3.  The ".3" is the number of credit units for this class.  Classes are usually 3 credits for a term class or 6 credit units for two terms (full year).
  2. Housing and Meals - St. Peter's College provides on-campus housing at Severin Hall. There are various healthy, balanced, hot meal plans that are available to our students. Meals are served in the dining room at 8:00 a.m., 12:00 p.m., and 6:00 p.m. Meal plans are available for those students who live off campus as well as to on-campus students. 
  3. Parking - Electrified parking is available to students at $100.00 per school year (or $50.00 per semester).
  4. Other
    • Textbooks - can be purchased new or used from the U of S bookstore.
    • Art Supplies - are also available at our front office.

Tax Receipts 

St. Peter's College will issue a Tuition and Education Credit Certificate (T2202A) for tax purposes. 

If you are currently registered at St. Peter's College, you may pick up your tax certificate at the Finance Office.  Otherwise, it will be mailed to the most current address on file.  Tax certificates will be ready for pick up by students by the last week of February following the end of the taxation year.

If you were registered during the previous academic year, you may pick up your tax certificate at the Finance Office.  Otherwise, it will be mailed to your most current permanent address on file, by the last week of February following the end of the taxation year. 

Please help us by providing St. Peter's College with any address changes.  It is your responsibility to keep St. Peter's College updated with your current address.  All correspondence will be sent to the most current address on file.

Address changes can be sent to the Finance Office.

 

Scholarships from St. Peter's College

All scholarships administered through the College Finance Office will be applied to any outstanding tuition and student fees.  The remainder of the award, if any, will be forwarded to you by cheque.

Scholarships that cover the tuition and fees for the 1st Term of the college year will be treated as the first instalment payment.  The remaining tuition and student fees will not be due until the first Friday of February.

Students who have moved on to the University of Saskatchewan or other universities and who have been awarded a St. Peter's College Scholarship will be paid via cheque.  (When you apply for a scholarship, please make sure your contact information is up to date.) 

Deadline for scholarships and awards is June 15th, 2017.

Scholarships from the University of Saskatchewan

University of Saskatchewan entrance scholarships will be paid to the student by cheque from the University of  Saskatchewan.

It is the students responsibility to contact the University of  Saskatchewan and tell them that you are attending St. Peter's College.  Once they know you are attending St. Peter's College, they will forward your scholarship to you.

How to Apply

There are numerous scholarships and awards available to students who attend St. Peter's College.  These awards encourage and reward scholastic achievement, life experience and college involvement, while providing monetary assistance to facilitate attendance at the College.

The deadline to apply for St. Peter's College Scholarships and Awards is June 26, 2016.  Successful applicants will be notified in early August.  St. Peter's College Scholarships and awards are presented to recipients at the Awards Ceremony on Sept. 26, 2015. 

For awards based on high school achievement, averages are calculated using university entrance requirements.  All upper-year awards require completion of no fewer than 24 credit units at the university level.

The Scholarship Committee reserves the right not to grant an award if criteria have not been met.  Unless otherwise indicated, the scholarship or bursary will be applied to the payment of the recipient's tuition and fees.  Any remaining balance will be dispersed to the student.

St. Peter's College reserves the right to release recipient information to donors, high schools, provincial funding bodies and the media.  The College also reserves the right to use this information for promotional purposes. 

St. Peter's College assumes liability for the payment of scholarships, bursaries and other awards only to the extent that expected gifts from donors or returns from particular investments of endowed funds are realized.  The College reserves the right to make whatever changes circumstances may require, including the cancellation or addition of particular awards.

Applying for Scholarships and Awards

  1. The application form is available here.

  2. If you are applying for first-year awards, send a copy of your preliminary high school marks to St. Peter's College or if you are applying for upper-year awards, send a copy of your previous year's final grades.

  3. Gather and send all supporting documents relevant to each award.  Remember to keep all scholarship, award or bursary materials together to avoid misplacement of crucial items.

  4. Ensure that the supporting documentation is well prepared and includes all required documentation, including letters of reference.

  5. Submit your online application form and send supporting documentation before July 15th in one of the following ways:

Student Loans

How and when do I apply for a Student Loan?

Click on the links below to find out how and when to apply for student loans.  If you need assistance, please contact the Finance Office or Student Services.

I've received my Student Loan - now what?

You must now get the "Confirmation of Enrolment" portion of the  Schedule 1 Loan Form signed by the Finance Officer at St. Peter's College.

Once you have registered for your classes through PAWS, bring your Schedule 1 Loan Form  to the Finance Office at St. Peter's College.

Student Loan forms cannot be signed more than 30 days prior to the start date of classes.

Do I pay the College directly or is a cheque issued by the Student Loan department?

The total of tuition and assessed fees for first and second term courses will be input by the Finance Officer on to the schedule 1 Loan Form.  Payment will then be made directly to St. Peter's College by Canada/Provincial Student Loans.
